Grayson Allen back in lineup after one game suspension

Duke shot 56% as a team including 51% from deep.
ACC honor: Georgia Tech freshman Josh Okogie has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. The Blue Devils lost its only game without Allen Saturday, falling 89-75 to Virginia Tech.
Justin Moore was one of three players with 11 points for the Yellow Jackets (9-5, 1-1). Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski is expected to miss at least four weeks to recover from back surgery, but his absence is not expected to have any affect on when Grayson Allen can return. Krzyzewski shed little light on the reinstatement process, saying he talked about the matter with athletics director Kevin White.
"The group is more like we wanted to do in October", Coach K said, "but we're doing it in January". You try to beat it and you can't beat it. Allen missed a single game-Duke's 89-75 loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies on December 31-after he intentionally tripped an Elon player on December 21. He found Harry Giles for an alley-oop layup for Duke's first basket.
Allen responded to his reinstatement by scoring 15 points and handing out seven assists, one off his career high.
He eventually found his points too.
"I was home over the break, and I knew coming back, I was going to have to work my way back and earn it, be under control", Allen said.
Duke's play over the last three weeks has been in a steady decline.
After Duke's Grayson Allen tripped yet another player, Coach K forced Allen to apologize to the player, and the Elon coach, Matt Matheny. And then there was the No. 8 Blue Devils.
With his Blue Devils house in order, Krzyzewski is ready to go under the knife.
Krzyzewski said in a statement that he consulted with the university's medical team and "together, we have determined that surgery is the best course of action at this time". "We pretty much had everyone playing". "This isn't the first time we've been good defensively". "It is a lot of fun to play that way".
Giles, starting his first game this season grabbed a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards for Duke (13-2, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). Duke outrebounded Georgia Tech, 49-31, and torched the Yellow Jackets on the fast break and in the paint.
Tonight was a different story.
"As soon as the doctors clear me to do so, I look forward to returning and giving our team 100 (percent) of my energy and attention, which is certainly something that they deserve", he said.
