Canada claims 4th at Sevens World Series event

Sam Myers will play in Sydney

This was South Africa's third Cup win on the circuit this season and they scored the opening try of final in the first minute with Philip Snyman going over after finding space on the left wing.

"It was a 12-person effort".

"We got off to a slowish start (in game one) but, certainly in the second game, it was very physical and I thought, strategically, they executed what we went out there to do", Walsh said.

Geduld built on the South Africans' tally when he added his name to the try-scoring list again early in the second half to extend the Blitzboks' lead to 24-0.

The Blitzboks now extended their lead in the series points table with 85 points, England moved back to second place with 68 points while the Vodafone Fiji 7s team sits at third place with 64 points.

"We will have to do the basics right", he said.

The women's quarterfinal lineup on Saturday has New Zealand playing France, Ireland taking on the United States, Australia playing Fiji and Russian Federation up against Canada. Some of their players are moving on and you could see how motivated they were to win for them in their last tournament.

The Canadians began the day with a 26-5 win over Russian Federation in the Cup quarter-finals.

Earlier in the day, the Blitzboks beat U.S. and hosts Australia to book their place in the final.

It was a little bit of redemption for the Canadians, who were eliminated by Russian Federation in the Cup quarters at the first event of the season in Dubai.
