Elon Musk's Vision of the Future Includes Cyborgs

The agreement was announced at the World Government Summit this week in the United Arab Emirates. He said most of this merger will be about how fast the connection between the brain and "the digital version of yourself, particularly output", can be.

In terms of the auto industry, Musk says that in just 10 years, automakers will manufacture and produce cars designed with full autonomous driving capability such as driverless functionality in mind, as reported by Business Insider. As per Complex, Elon revealed that he fears of "Deep AI" or the "artificial general intelligence", and the "smarter than the smartest human on earth".

"If you can consider two futures, one where we are forever confined to Earth until eventually, something bad happens, or another future where we are out there on many planets".

When that disruption comes, though, he's concerned about the potential negative economic impact autonomous cars could have - namely, putting those in industries now dependent on driving-based jobs out of work. Don't get carried away, said Musk:, "Sometimes what will happen is a scientist will get so engrossed in their work that they don't really realize the ramifications of what they're doing". Driving in various forms.

"We need to figure out new roles for what those people can do, because it will be very disruptive and very quick", said Musk.

In Musk's mind, the human mind needs to evolve to be able to access information quickly and tap into artificial intelligence. Musk stressed the importance of finding other ways to get displaced drivers working in an autonomous future, because they make up such a large percentage of the global economy. As artificial intelligence technology improves, as some point humans will become irrelevant. The open source programme received the backing of multiple high-profile Silicon Valley donors including LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and Y Combinator's Sam Altman.

In the last decade, we have all become more attached to our tech devices than ever before, but the prospect of a world filled with cyborgs is still (thankfully) the thing of science fiction.

This would also solve the 'control problem, ' he went on to explain, as it could become so widespread that 'anyone who wants it can have it'.
