Kim Jong-nam murder: Malaysia says VX nerve agent used

Royal Malaysia Police said Friday that swabs from the Nam's face and eye tested positive for "VX nerve agent", a substance listed as a chemical weapon and banned by an global convention.

North Korea's ambassador to Kuala Lumpur has said the Malaysian investigation can not be trusted, and that the three suspects that have been detained should be released immediately.

The Indonesian woman is one of three suspects being held for the apparent assassination with a chemical weapon of Kim Jong Nam, the estranged half-brother of Kim Jong Un, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on February 13.

Inspector-general of police, Khalid Abu Bakar, told reporters on Wednesday the two women suspected of fatally poisoning the man were trained to coat their hands with toxic substances and wipe them on his face.

" It severely disrupts the body's nervous system and is used as a nerve agent in chemical warfare". The cult later used sarin, a nerve gas, in a Tokyo subway, killing 13 people and injuring more than 6,000.

" It can cause convulsions, loss of consciousness, paralysis and respiratory failure in minutes".

The Facebook page of Doan Thi Huong, a Vietnamese suspect in the death of the Kim Jong-nam.

"The ambassador has been informed of the process involved (in the police investigation) but he continues to be delusional and spew lies and accusations against the government of Malaysia", said Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman.

An instructor at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., carries VX nerve agent inside a special chamber used for training in 2003.

"The lady was moving away with her hands toward the bathroom", Khalid said earlier this week.

It is thought that the women were directed by others and the Malaysian authorities are demanding an interview with a North Korean diplomat, Hyon Kwang Song, who is known to have been in the airport on the day of the assassination. It is not a signatory to the Chemical Weapons Convention, which bans the use of such weapons.

Pyongyang has denied responsibility for the attack on Kim Jong-nam, who had openly called for political reform in North Korea and lived in exile in Macau.

It has been confirmed that Iranian scientists entered North Korea on the occasions of its nuclear tests and test-lunching of newly developed missiles, and these scientists flew to North Korea mainly via Vladivostok. 'I would be looking closely at, why two women?' says John Robertson, a poisons expert who runs The poison gardenwebsite.

North Korean officials have challenged claims that the 45-year-old was poisoned, and maintain that Malaysian police have "recklessly" made this an established fact.

North Korea has denounced Malaysia's investigation as full of "holes and contradictions" and manipulated by Pyongyang's enemies.
