The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ Switch Version Delayed

It was recently confirmed that The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth would be available at the same time as the Nintendo Switch's launch, however the developer Nicalis has now advised that this will no longer be the case.

Announced in a blog post on the publisher's site, the delay is said to be because of "issues beyond [their] control", which would suggest some kind of certification process.

Nintendo Switch has a lean launch line-up, positioned somewhere between a couple and several games, and the console has just lost one of those games. Those who has pre-ordered the game would have noticed the release date change which has pushed the game.

It's not all bad news however as Nicalis did confirm the contents of the physical version of the game.

We already knew that the Switch version of The Binding of Isaac would boast reversible artwork and a pair of sticker sheets featuring characters and items from the game. The package will only be available for the initial production run of the physical game for Nintendo Switch, as reported by Polygon. We'll have to wait for more information in the meantime. However, Nicalis did confirm that the game would be released later in March for the Nintendo Switch. The Binding of Isaac's previous expansion was launched in October of 2015 entitled Afterbirth and then made its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles in May 2016, as published by GameSpot.
