Another person tried to get into the White House

MSNBC, citing press secretary Sean Spicer, reported someone jumped a security barrier outside the White House perimeter and was taken into custody before reaching the fence surrounding the White House grounds.

The US Secret Service (USSS) has released new details about the White House intruder, who jumped three fences to enter the presidential palace on 10 March. In addition to the Mace, he was arrested carrying a book written by Trump and a letter he wrote to the president. Then, Tran moved around to the south side of the white house, through the first lady's garden. He was carrying two cans of mace, a U.S. passport, a computer and one of Mr Trump's books, authorities said. As standard operating procedure, Secret Service personnel increased their posture of readiness.

It's not the first time this video showing a security breach in 2014 when a 42 year old Iraq war veteran armed with a knife made it all the way inside the white house into the east room before being tackled just 29 seconds after he jumped the fence.

Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, blasted the Secret Service for both the lapse.

The revelation also came the same day the Secret Service disclosed a thief stole an agency laptop containing classified plans for Trump Tower and materials about the Hillary Clinton email investigation, along with lapel pins identifying agents responsible for protecting Trump, Clinton and Pope Francis.

According to the Secret Service, Tran scaled two other fences, one of them being eight-foot vehicle gate. Tran was also carrying a US passport, an Apple laptop computer, a book written by Mr. Trump and a letter he had written to the president, the complaint said. "I don't know what in the world they're doing but it is a total and complete embarrassment". With the president in the White House, the intruder was evidently able to hide behind a pillar and get to a door undetected.

Chaffetz said he sent a letter to Secret Service Acting Director William Callahan about the incident Friday.
