Video posted of Kim Jong-Nam's son in hiding after killing

South Korea's military says North Korea has fired a projectile from an area near a missile base

"We have now established that Kim Chol is Kim Jong Nam", Police Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar told reporters on Friday.

Thae's comments were reported one day after Kim Han-sol appeared online from an unidentified location. There is some confusion over whether the man, who identifies himself as Kim Han-sol, is who he says he is, though he does bear a strong resemblance to the Kim Han-sol interviewed in 2012 by former Finnish defense minister Elisabeth Rehn. Han showed his passport and said in unaccented English that he was with his mother and sister.

"We hope this gets better soon".

The two women used "poisoned needles" to commit the assassination.

He says: "My name is Kim Han-Sol, from North Korea, part of the Kim family".

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) had made a request not to play the March 28 fixture in Pyongyang, under pressure from the Malaysian Government following the political fallout from Kim Jong-nam's murder.

Han Sol grew up in Pyongyang but was forced to move to Macau, a special administrative region of China, in the early 2000s after Jong Nam fell out with his father and was exiled in 2003.

The release of the video adds a twist to the killing as no immediate member of Kim Jong-nam's family has come forward to claim his body.

"We publicly express our gratitude for the emergency humanitarian assistance afforded to us in protecting this family by the governments of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the People's Republic of China, the United States of America, and a fourth government to remain unnamed". Some of the video has been censored, and he holds up his North Korean passport to verify his identity. That's precisely what he's done, according to Cheollima Civil Defense.

His mother is Kim Jong Nam's second wife, Lee Hye Kyong, and Han Sol's sister Hol Sul, is 18.

Referring to North Korea's multiple missile launches on Monday that targeted American bases in Japan, Thae said they seemed to have been created to solicit military aid from China. Malaysia retaliated by preventing North Koreans from leaving the country until the safety of the Malaysians in the North will be assured.

He died on the way to hospital within about 20 minutes of the attack.

Malaysian police had previously identified the man as Kim Chol by citing his passport, and insisted that they needed family members to provide DNA samples to further identify the body.

On Tuesday, Malaysia barred all North Koreans in the country, including diplomats and embassy workers, from leaving.
