Former Fox anchor: Harassment is pervasive

California congresswoman Maxine Waters said Fox New anchor Bill O'Reilly should be arrested over the allegations against him for sexual harassment and slammed President Donald Trump for defending the host as "a good person".

"The O'Reilly Factor" is losing advertisers after it was revealed five women have collectively received $13 million in settlements after accusing Bill O'Reilly of sexual harassment or inappropriate conduct.

Just past year, the brothers were lauded for responding swiftly following sexual harassment complaints against Fox News founder Roger Ailes, who left the company (along with a $40 million severance).

Fox News has said it is working with its advertisers to address concerns, and O'Reilly said in a statement posted to his website April 1 that he was "vulnerable to lawsuits from individuals who want me to pay them to avoid negative publicity".

"Personally, I think he shouldn't have settled", Trump told the Times from the Oval Office. "I think she's very attractive".

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly may be losing advertisers amid his recently uncovered sexual harassment scandals, but viewers don't seem to be phased. It says: "You may be valuable". And they can do that because O'Reilly attracts more than 3.5 million viewers nightly.

Fox parent 21st Century Fox has many factors to weigh.

Pillow maker MyPillow said Tuesday that while it doesn't condone sexual harassment, it has ad deal similar to Angie's List where Fox decides the show in which the ads are placed.

O'Reilly and Fox News paid a total of $13 million in settlements, even though the combative commentator believes the accusations were without merit and said he made the payments to spare his family from bad publicity. In recent days, suits have been filed accusing a former Fox comptroller of racist behavior and former Fox News chief Roger Ailes of sexually harassing a current Fox News contributor. The company has a contract with Fox that doesn't specify which program its ads will air on, and has no plans to change its strategy, said Cheryl Reed, spokeswoman for the company that offers crowd-sourced reviews of local businesses.

"The worst part of my job is being a target for those who would harm me and my employer, the Fox News Channel", O'Reilly said.

Bill O'Reilly has spent his 21 years as the centerpiece of Fox News' prime time lineup making a steady stream of sexist, racist, ignorant comments, but he rarely suffered any serious setbacks.

The television show is the top revenue producer for Fox News, generating over $178 million in advertising money in 2015, and $118.6 million in the first nine months of 2016.
