Human rights of youth tied to jeep has been violated: Omar Abdullah

In a related development, Police Station Beerwah has registered case FIR No: 31 in the matter of attack on another polling station at Atina, Beewah, on April 9th when a student of the neighbouring Churmujru village got hit in retaliation to stone pelting and died on the spot.

The video was reportedly shot in the Beerwah area of Budgam district, where miscreants disrupted polling during Sunday's bypoll to Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency by pelting stones. Some activists say that rebels in Kashmir have been used as human shields since the late 1980s. "We can not demean them", Singh said. "It had something written on it but I could only read my name", he said.

"I understand the outrage the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) video generated". A warning can be heard saying stone pelters will meet this fate.

The soldiers are seen firing 5 to 6 rounds and then moving back after a youth falls to their bullets. The video footage further showed one of the youth suddenly falling to the ground - apparently after being shot by security personnel.

The video shared by many on social media sites including former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah mounted outrage, after which Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti sought a report of the incident from the police.

Post Srinagar parliamentary by-poll, shocking videos of protesters and forces have surfaced, generating debates on social media and on other public platforms.

Last month, a photo of an 11-year-old Kashmiri boy being forced to do sit-ups by Indian troops triggered widespread condemnation.

Mirwaiz south Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir (April 14), said that army using Kashmiris as human shields or shooting to kill to target young boys exposes that people of Kashmir continue to be treated brutally.

Even Abdullah was forced to accept that the "Kashmiri youth" was not an innocent bystander being used as a human shield by the army.

Dar told investigators that after exercising his right to vote, he was proceeding towards his sister's village when he was caught by the army personnel who wanted to enter Beerwah village along with the polling staff, the officials said. Again, the authenticity of the two videos could not be verified. What were the circumstances, what was the situation, and how it all happened needs to be looked at.

Lashing out at the Jammu and Kashmir Government for the ongoing turmoil in the valley for the past few months, the National Panthers Party (NPP) on Saturday said the state government has failed and has led to emergence of anarchy in the state.
