Kim Jong Nam: Corpse arrives in Pyongyang

They were met at the Kuala Lumpur airport by Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman early on Thursday.

Malaysia had earlier this month barred North Koreans from leaving the country, after a diplomatic row over the freaky assassination of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on 13 February.

South Korea has blamed Pyongyang for the Cold War-style killing, citing what they say was a standing order from North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un to murder his exiled and estranged half-brother.

Despite the spat, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said he will not sever ties with North Korea, state news agency Bernama reported on Friday, after the diplomatic row between the two countries ended this week.

The police chief would not comment on whether the release of the North Koreans was part of a deal with Pyongyang in exchange for the nine Malaysians who were stranded in North Korea. Malaysia responded in kind, with an exit ban of its own targeting North Koreans.

The return of the body was followed by the repatriation of nine Malaysian nationals, who arrived in their home country on Friday, according to the New Straits Times and Channel News Asia.

It was not clear what would happen to the two under the deal between Malaysia and North Korea.

North Korea had insisted the body be returned to North Korea, despite North Korean officials claiming the dead man was not Mr Kim.

This secured the release of nine Malaysian citizens held in Pyongyang. While he is believed to have kept out of politics, he has given brief interviews criticising dynastic succession in North Korea.

Malaysia's investigation enraged North Korea, which denied any role in the killing and denounced the investigation as flawed and politically motivated.

Malaysian police arrested the two women who carried out the assassination by rubbing the nerve agent on Kim's face, which led to his death only after 20 minutes.

The North Korean group traveled to China on their way home.

Captured by CCTV footage at the airport, the men - later identified by South Korea as agents of Pyongyang's Ministry of State Security - were nearby when Kim was poisoned.

"Whether North Korea admits it or not", Chang said, "everyone knows who did it".

The three men were among eight North Koreans Malaysian police wanted to question over the murder.

On March 1, two foreign women ― Siti Aisyah, 25, an Indonesian citizen and Doan Thi Huong, 29, a Vietnamese ― were charged at the Sepang Magistrate's Court with murdering Jong-nam.

"China cooperated which is required for stopover of the corpse in according with global practice and the level of humanitarian assistance", Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang told reporters on Friday during a regular press briefing.

The coffin carrying the body of Kim Jong Nam was believed to have been on the same flight.
