Negan's War Played Out in 'Walking Dead' Just Like the Comics

The seventh season of The Walking Dead is finally over, with a lot of people mulling about how the show will go on from here.

It's a series highlight filled with fleeting character interactions that you may not notice the first time around (Rick and Morgan's nod will spring hairs on end; Negan's middle finger as he's chased out of Alexandria will make you howl).

Their worlds were rocked again when they were betrayed by the Scavengers, who happened to also be serving Negan and his group.

Negan told Sasha he wanted to send her back to Alexandria but in return, her group's leader, Rick [Andrew Lincoln] would have to choose someone else to be killed.

Unbeknownst to the viewer, this moment is pure set-up for the amalgamation of every plot strand this season has followed since last October heralded by the hugely unexpected appearance of King Ezekiel and his pet tiger Shiva that may have you on your feat shouting at the top of your lungs in celebration.

Mark Monday 5th June into your calendars people as that marks the return of AMC's Fear The Walking Dead, with United Kingdom audiences being treated to access to the new series at the same time as America, with a 2.00am schedule time coming by way of the AMC Channel on BT TV.

"I say, 'It's gonna be bigger, it's gonna be more intense.' I always mean that, but this year it's the same thing". It combined drama, action, and intrigue in a way that kept fans on the edge of their seat through most of the episode. While the character development was initially one of the show's strengths - and what made it more than just a never-ending zombie movie - too much screen time is now spent with those long pensive shots of Carol or Daryl or whoever sitting around and pondering all the losses they've endured.

As an extended battle sequence, it sparks anticipation for the battles to come in season eight - and, for many viewers, it's a ideal slice of humble pie.

Starring Kim Dickens in the lead role of Madison and an incredible ensemble cast including Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Colman Domingo as Strand and Danay Garcia as Luciana, the show has gone from strength to strength and instantly proved that it could stand on its own two feet, without having to crossover or pull some strings to get involved in some other way with "The Walking Dead".

Benjamin H. Smith is a NY based writer, producer and musician who grew up in the 1980's and thus has a deeper understanding of zombie movies than most other people.
