Nunes' colleagues say docs don't support surveillance claims

Trump accused Rice of committing a crime last week during an interview with the New York Times, but he did not provide evidence to support his claim. Several intelligence leaks have revealed that Trump's campaign and transition team officials had contact with Russian Federation, despite the president's claims to the contrary.

After dark on March 21, Nunes is said to have met secretly with two White House attorneys to view intelligence reports that allegedly show Trump campaign associates incidentally swept up in foreign surveillance.

The intelligence reports in question, which lawmakers and staff recently had a chance to review at NSA headquarters in Fort Meade, Maryland, were described by "normal and appropriate" by one congressional intelligence source CNN spoke with.

Republican and Democratic lawmakers and aides who reviewed the same documents as Nunes told CNN that they have found nothing unusual in the reports.

Despite these assurances, however, the report notes other members of Congress still have concerns about the Obama administration's alleged surveillance of the Trump campaign. And these reports revealed the names of Trump team members - and did so unnecessarily, at least in Nunes's opinion.

'Perhaps I didn't know how right I was, because nobody knew the extent of it'. "It's such an important story for our country and the world".

It's not that I think Sciutto is incapable of good reporting, but asking me to choose between Devin Nunes asserting on record he's seen abuses of power, and Sciutto first dismissing Nunes out of hand and later refuting Nunes with anonymous sources making subjective claims, well, that isn't much of a choice at all. When you look at Susan Rice and what's going on, and so many people are coming up to me and apologizing now, they say "You know, you were right when you said that".

"Losing 14 minutes of audiotape in comparison to this is a little spat in the sandbox in the kindergarten", Gorka said.

"We will be performing an accounting of all unmasking for political purposes focused on the previous White House administration", a member of the committee told Fox News.

"There were occasions when I would receive a report in which a USA person was referred to, name not provided, just a US person, and sometimes in that context in order to understand the importance of that report, and assess its significance, it was necessary to find out or request the information as to who that US official was", she said. Rice said the same in an interview on MSNBC last week, adding that any suggestion that her actions were politically motivated were "absolutely false".

If the names were unmasked in intelligence reports and then leaked to the media for political reasons, it could constitute criminal behavior.

"Tonight both Republican and Democratic lawmakers and aides are casting new doubt on those claims that Devin Nunes made that Obama administration officials had improperly requested the names of USA individuals that had been redacted in intelligence documents", Lemon explained.
