This Is What A Syrian Refugee Thinks About Trump's Airstrikes

We don't want to come to the United States...we want to stay in our country.

In light of President Donald Trump's deadly attack against Syria Thursday evening, a local news organization in California talked to a Syrian refugee. I didn't see you in 2013 when 1,400 people were gassed to death.

Following the horrific sarin gas attack against Syria's citizens Tuesday, which killed over 100 and injured at least 300, the United States conducted a successful airstrike against Shayrat air base late Thursday evening.

The International Refugee Assistance Project, noting that the conflict in Syria has "caused the largest refugee crisis the world has ever seen", urged the president to develop a humanitarian response.

A statement from the International Refugee Assistance Project following the missile strikes took a similar tone.

Following her comments, Trump's stance on a military response began to change, according to the source, who was speaking on condition of anonymity. "Many refugee children have been left in life or death situations following the President's executive order, which suspends and severely curtails the USA resettlement program". "Proud of my father for refusing to accept these horrendous crimes against humanity", Ivanka tweeted Friday morning, the day after the president ordered the nation's first direct military assault on the government of President Bashar Assad after a chemical weapon attack on Syrian civilians. He told President Obama you cannot do this without the authorization of Congress.

Omar Jadwat, director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Immigrants' Rights Project, said if the president was able to reconsider his position on military strikes in Syria, he should also be willing to take a fresh look at the executive order.

More than six years since the conflict in Syria began, almost a half million people are dead, 6.3 million are displaced inside the country, and 4.8 million refugees have sought safety in neighboring countries.
