ECU Football Coach Surprises Walk-On's Mom With Scholarship News

ECU coach surprises walk-on's mom with news of his scholarship (Video)

College football teams in the NCAA's D-I "Football Bowl Subdivision" are allowed to grant 85 full scholarships every year.

ECU AthleticsEast Carolina head coach Scottie Montgomery surprised Tia Anderson with a scholarship for her son, Kiante.

A sweet Mother's Day video is now circling the internet that will no doubt leave you teary-eyed.

The player getting the scholarship here is outside linebacker Kiante Anderson, a senior walk-on who started (and lettered) for the first time last season.

She then got to call and tell her son the news, and everyone cried and this video is pretty much the best thing today.

FootballScoop.com reports Montgomery delivered the flawless #ScholarshipAlert to Tia Chapman, the mother of defensive end Kiante Anderson, a Greenville, N.C., native. "He speaks so highly of her, talks about her sacrifices, and he's earned it on and off the field". Congrats to Anderson and his family on a great achievement.
