Melissa McCarthy adds spice (and Spicer) as host of 'SNL'

Her Spicer responded by ripping a pillar from the wall and throwing it at the reporter, exclaiming, "I honestly hope to God that killed her!"

FILE - In this Tuesday, June 7, 2016 file photo, Melissa McCarthy arrives at the ELLE Women in Comedy Event at Hyde Sunset in Los Angeles. But far and away Saturday's fan favorite was McCarthy's "Sean Spicer Returns" sketch, during which the show mercilessly skewered the chaos that followed Comey's Tuesday dismissal.

Anticipation for the latest skit on Saturday (13 May) had grown throughout the week when McCarthy was seen filming on the streets of NY. On Friday, social media captured Melissa McCarthy's Spicey - who often lifts up his podium and uses it to intimidate reporters - rolling through Manhattan traffic via motorized podium, yelling at cars to get out of the way.

"I'm famous, it's OK", says Baldwin's Trump.

Baldwin opened the episode with his Trump impression as well, lampooning the president's controversial interview with Lester Holt (Michael Che). Trump said his choice would be "so bonkers" everyone would wish it were Judge Judy.

In a new skit for the show, Sarah Huckabee Sanders walks up to the podium saying she's filling in for Sean that day as he couldn't be there.

"Let me just put this whole Russian thing to bed once and for all", says Spicer.

"Trump is innocent. How do we know? Because he TOLD us so!"

That's when McCarthy-as-Spicer emerged from the bushes to show off the Spicer character viewers are familiar with: one who takes a fire-extinquisher to a "liar liar trousers on fire" reporter and who throws a pillar at another.

But was this true?

Sanders did this in real life this week while Spicer was fulfilling his U.S. Navy Reserve Duty. Had Trump been feeding him lies?

Mr. Trump's relationship with Spicer was grist for the SNL mill, since there are new questions about whether or not President Trump will get rid of Spicer and replace him with Kimberly Guilfoyle, a Fox News personality, as reported by the Daily Mail.

"Is this like the godfather where you kiss me and no one ever sees me again?"

Another reporter chimes in, "I'd also like to ask that question". As seen in the above photo, President Trump touched Spicer's back during the swearing in ceremony of White House senior staff in the East Room of the White House on January 22.
