Plane with New York CEO, 3 others, missing in Bahamas

A US Coast Guard helicopter found a "debris field of a plane" - including a seat - floating Tuesday in the waters near where an aircraft carrying a Manhattan CEO, her two kids and boyfriend was last heard from, officials said.

The alarm was raised after the plane, which left from Puerto Rico in the afternoon, never arrived at its destination in Titusville, Florida.

Believed to be on board are Jennifer Blumin and Nathan Ulrich from NY, and Blumin's 4-year-old and 10-year-old sons, according to the Coast Guard.

A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater C-130 Hercules airplane crew searched Monday for the overdue plane.

Customs and Border Patrol and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force are also assisting the Coast Guard in the ongoing search. "Her family is working with investigators and we politely ask that you respect their privacy at this time".

Blumin owned the plane through a consulting company she owned, according to New York State and aviation records.

According to the Coast Guard, watch standers received an alert at about 1:30 a.m. from the catamaran.

"There's no indication of significant adverse weather at the time", said Lt. Cmdr.

The missing plane was traveling at a speed of about 300 knots and was 24,000 feet above the ground when it lost contact with air traffic control, the Coast Guard said. Officials say the plane disappeared from radar near the Bahamas on Monday morning.

Ulrich was listed as the pilot but it was not known who was flying it at the time, Kelly said.
