Bank after Jerusalem attacks

Update: The soldiers broke into, and violently searched the homes of the three Palestinians, who were killed in Jerusalem, friday, and verbally informed the families that the army will be demolishing their homes soon.

Major General Yoav Mordechai, the head of COGAT, the Israeli defence ministry agency responsible for civilian affairs in the Palestinian territories, said the 250,000 family visit permits were cancelled in response to "encouragement to terrorism" by Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas's Fatah movement. Israel says at least 170 of those killed were carrying out attacks.

Two Palestinians were shot dead after opening fire at and trying to stab a group of Israeli police officers, police said.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the fatal stabbing in a statement.

Hadas Malka, z'l, 23, was laid to rest overnight in Ashdod after being stabbed to death at the start of the Sabbath Friday in a terrorist attack by three PFLP operatives near the Damascus Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem.

Israel blames the violence on incitement by Palestinian political and religious leaders compounded on social media sites that glorify violence and encourage attacks.

Following the attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior members of his cabinet, as well as top security officials met in a conference call and decided that Israeli authorities would be instructed to rescind all weekday holiday permits from Palestinians to enter Israel.

Israel said it saw no evidence of such a decision and the Palestinians would not confirm.

The attack comes on the third Friday of the month-long Ramadan fast at a time when thousands of Muslims were making their way to the Temple Mount to pray.

Two of the men killed were said to be 18-year-old from al-Bireh, near Ramallah, while the third suspect was a 31-year-old from Hebron. He confirmed one of the attackers was a member of Hamas and the other two members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

He also said the attack proved the Palestinian Authority's policy of security coordination with Israel was wrong, calling it "a national crime".

The incidents were the latest in a wave of violence that has claimed the lives of at least 250 Palestinians, 41 Israelis, two Jordanian tourists, two USA nationals, two refugees from Sudan and Eritrea and a British tourist since mid-September 2015.

Israeli authorities, meanwhile, say nearly 50 Israelis have been killed in attacks carried out by Palestinians over the same period.
