Bill Cosby's accuser Andrea Constand testifies at trial

HIGH PROFILE CASE Bill Cosby

Constand claimed that Cosby made inappropriate advances toward her twice before the alleged assault.

Constand told jurors she had only spoken with Cosby a handful of times, all related to her administrative job with the women's basketball program at Temple.

Cosby, 79, is facing three counts of aggravated indecent assault for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting Constand. More than 50 women have accused Cosby - once beloved by American audiences as the dad in the long-running TV hit "The Cosby Show" - of sexually assaulting them in a series of attacks dating to the 1960s.

Agrusa contended that, after poring over her phone records, Constand realized she'd placed almost 10 calls to various friends the night of March 16.

The defense has suggested that her repeated calls to him show the encounter was consensual. Constand alleges that after she was incapacitated by the pills, Cosby sexually assaulted her.

Despite Cosby's actions, Constand said she did not feel threatened.

Constand, who said she thought it was an herbal product, told police she fell into a stupor, unable to rebuff him as he molested her on the couch. Afterward, Constand said she felt "humiliated and confused" and "just wanted to go home", but doesn't remember the details of the morning after the alleged assault before she left Cosby's home.

Cosby reportedly hung his head in hands during Constand's testimony, as well as rolled his eyes and shook his head. On a prior occasion, at the Foxwoods Casino Hotel, Constand admitted that she laid on a bed with Cosby. Constand was the women's basketball team manager at Cosby's alma mater. "Put 'em down, they're your friends". She woke to him fondly her breasts and penetrating her with his fingers, she testified.

He gave her wine as well, she said.

"It was a very big burden on me, but one that I didn't have the courage at the time to tell my family about", she said. "In my head I was trying to get my hands to move or my legs to move, but I was frozen", Constand said. "I don't want that".

"I wasn't able to fight him away", she added on the second day of Cosby's trial. But in the end, it will come down, I believe, to one thing: Does the jury believe Constand is telling the truth? She also said he had tried to undo her trousers on another occasion, and she'd told him, "I don't want that". Allyn reports that the woman was subjected to a tough cross-examination by Cosby's attorney, who attempted to show that her memory was incorrect. No one was in the room with Cosby and Constand on the night in question; it's a he-said, she-said issue.

The trial is expected to take about 2 weeks. Asst. District Attorney Kristen Feden asked the former college basketball star before her testimony concluded. "He is 10 years older than even her own father", the mother testified, breaking down on the stand.

"So once you got ahold of your phone records and realized you could not have been passed out and unconscious, you changed your story", Agrusa asked. "A mentor", she said.

Sewell said they didn't go to police at the time because her husband, a Los Angeles detective, feared the ordeal that would ensue. After a year and a half of cordial friendship, they met at Cosby's home in suburban Philadelphia.

The AP does not typically identify people who say they are sexual assault victims unless they grant permission, which Johnson has done.
