Buckhorn and Kriseman stand with Paris on Climate Accord

In terms of climate benefits produced by the Paris accord, there are practically none.

Brown told reporters at the worldwide clean energy conference in Beijing that nixing the Paris agreement is only a temporary setback, adding that China, European countries and the coalition of states should be able to fill in the gap Trump left. Embassy spokeswoman Mary Beth Polley confirmed David Rank's departure, but said only that it was a "personal decision".

For all his faults, Trump has done at least two great things for this country: keeping Hillary Clinton out of the Oval Office and keeping us out of the so-called climate accord.

The "climate accord" is nothing more than a scam to soak American taxpayers with additional taxes to accomplish nothing.

So congratulations, President Trump, because we now join role models Syria and Nicaragua as the only nations on the globe that don't want to cooperate to help resolve the global warming problem.

The move follows President Donald Trump's announcement on Wednesday that he is withdrawing the United States from the 195-country global pact to reduce greenhouse gases and combat climate change signed by former Pres. Barack Obama in 2015.

"Pulling out of the Paris Accord is wrong for our country, our children, and the generations to come", Cooper said.

He is 100 percent correct that a solution is needed. One form of that approach that goes a long way toward protecting people with lower incomes is a carbon fee and "dividend," meaning the carbon fees collected from fossil fuel companies immediately go out the door to all households on an equal basis. He suggested there would be a "countermovement" against Trump's decision to abandon the Paris Agreement and called it a "colossal mistake".

The leaders that signed the letter represent the "broadest cross section of the American economy yet assembled in pursuit of climate action", according to the letter, and they have declared their intent to "continue to ensure the United States remains a global leader in reducing carbon emissions".

Unlike the U.S., however, North Korea is a signatory to the Paris agreement and has previously issued a "declaration of war" against deforestation.

The move has also caused a rift with India, after Trump accused New Delhi of receiving "billions and billions and billions of dollars" in return for joining the Paris agreement. Negotiate with who? The rest of the agreement signers renewed their support for the agreement.

The Wall Street Journal said it best: "Leadership is not defined as the US endorsing whatever other world leaders have already decided they want to do, and the U.S.is providing a better model in any case".

"We're not stepping back and we haven't created a void", he told reporters on Monday in Tokyo, en route to the meeting.

Mr. Trump doesn't seem to understand that while we are indeed Americans, we also live on planet Earth.
