Report of multiple casualties in incident on London Bridge

One of the bartenders came out and ordered us all inside, telling us there had been a terrorist attack on London Bridge and we needed to shelter inside until we knew we were safe.

Debris and abandoned cars remain on London at the scene of an apparent terror attack in central London on June 3, 2017.

The violence turned a summery Saturday night in an area full of bars and restaurants into a scene of panic and chaos, with officers running through crowded streets screaming for people to flee and lifeboats drafted to help clear the area. Police said shots have been fired.

Police are searching for three suspects.

"We have been told by police there has been more than one fatality in the incident at London Bridge", the BBC said.

Tony Murphy, who is ex-military and lives near the area, was a second witness to tell Sky News of gunfire.

On May 22, a British suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured dozens at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.

"The police were absolutely brilliant, they came in and explained the situation", he said".

The BBC reporter saw five or six people being treated for their injuries.

Police are also responding to an incident at Borough Market, Scotland Yard said.

As they responded to the two incidents, police were then called to a third potential attack - reports of an "incident" in nearby Vauxhall, a residential area, which occurred just before 1 a.m. (8p ET).

The London Bridge has been evacuated after several people are reportedly mowed down by a auto in what has been confirmed as a terrorist attack with "multiple casualties". "I'd say there are about four severely injured people". "I want to know if this girl is still alive". She said - this is her description - he swerved right around me and then hit about five or six people.

"It was horrendous", he said.

Another witness says a passerby told him that it was like "Westminster Bridge all over again". "You could hear the screams, you could hear people running down the street".

Police activity spread throughout the Borough Market area.

"A man suddenly appeared in the restaurant with a massive knife - some people in the restaurant believe there may have been another man - but it was so chaotic it was hard to tell", the witness said.

CNN spoke to a witness named Mark Roberts, who was on the bridge while this unfolded.

"They hit the emergency alarm. People went to her aid". "And then there were nearly hundreds of people coming inside".

"Around the corner there was a guy with a stab wound on his neck. They put pressure on the stab wound".

It is the latest in a string of attacks to hit Europe, including in Paris, Berlin and Saint Petersburg.

Metropolitan Police tweeted armed police were responding to incidents on the bridge and at Borough Market.

"They have not been able to confirm to us that at this stage all of the terrorists have been accounted for".

The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, referred to them as a unitary event in a statement, "the horrific terrorist attack at London Bridge and Borough Market".

Police officers gather on Borough High Street as police deal with an incident on London Bridge in London, Saturday, June 3, 2017.

He told Sky News: "It was about 10.15pm I was in the back of an Uber cab driving over London Bridge.there was somebody down on the pavement with a small crowd around them clearly very concerned about their welfare".

"I was walking out of the London Bridge station and there were police", Caroline Breniere said.

The Manchester bombing was the deadliest attack in Britain since July 2005, when four British Muslim suicide bombers killed 52 people in coordinated attacks on London's transport network.
