UK Police Arrest 9th Man in Concert Bombing Investigation

Greater Manchester Police chief constable Ian Hopkins said, without elaborating, that searches of suspects' homes brought "very important" clues in the probe of the bombing.

A British intelligence official says the United Kingdom is now sharing intelligence with the USA, after reports that British officials stopped sharing intelligence with the US over concerns about leaks.

Police arrested the man in the early hours, and are now searching another address in the same area.

The bomber's name, Salman Abedi, was also leaked to the U.S. media despite United Kingdom police not wanting it to be released.

"While we do not usually comment on information-sharing arrangements. having received fresh assurances, we are now working closely with our key partners around the world including all those in the "Five Eyes" intelligence alliance", Mark Rowley, Britain's lead officer for counterterrorism policing, said in a statement.

Police in Libya have also detained the father and brother of 22-year-old bomber Salman Abedi.

Police raids in the south of the city on Thursday uncovered suspicious materials similar to those used in the bombing that killed 22 people.

"And part of that trust is knowing that intelligence can be shared confidently, and I will be making clear to President Trump today that intelligence that is shared between law-enforcement agencies must be shared securely", May said. British police, who said the leaks amount to a breach of trust, had on Thursday suspended sharing information about the incident with the US.

British officials were particularly angry over photos published by The New York Times showing remnants of a blue backpack which may have held the explosive.

A friend of the terrorist behind the Manchester attack says he was upset about the stabbing of a friend a year ago. But it wasn't clear if United States officials were the source of the images, which the Times defended as "neither graphic nor disrespectful of victims" and consistent with basic reporting "on weapons used in horrific crimes".

Though ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack, Abedi's links to the group, and whether he ever traveled to the terrorists' territory, are unclear.
