Trump Receives Lowest Six Month Approval Rating Of Any President

Mainstream Media CNN Fake News Get Trump

A new poll showed on Sunday the approval rating for the US President Donald Trump sits at 36 per cent after a steady decline since springtime.

Of those polled, 66 percent said they did not trust the president to effectively represent US interests in negotiations with foreign leaders, with two-thirds also saying they didn't trust him to do so with Putin.

About 60 percent of those polled said it was inappropriate for Trump's son to have met with a Russian lawyer during the campaign, and about the same number say they think Russia attempted to steer the outcome of the election.

Trump's six-month rating is the lowest of any American president at this point in the last 70 years.

And just 27 percent say USA leadership on the world's stage has gotten stronger while 48 percent say it has grown weaker under Trump.

Trump's standing, at this point in his presidency, is the opposite of Obama's and Bush's, who both enjoyed a 59 percent approval rating at this point in their administrations.

Bennett further ruled out the possibility of Trump's impeachment in Congress, noting that the attempt will not succeed, because opponents are lacking strong arguments and they "cannot have an impeachment of a president without high crimes and misdemeanors".

However, there was a big positive for Trump in the poll - 43% of the respondents marked him positively on the performance of the economy on his watch, to 41% negatives.

Already, the Republican Senate leadership has delayed a vote planned for next week on repealing ObamaCare - a key promise of the Trump campaign - after failing to get 50 votes in support of the new bill.

US President Donald Trump's standing with the American people has deteriorated.

Meanwhile, 55 percent say Trump is not making significant progress toward his goals. Gallup has been conducting the approval rating poll of all US President's presidencies since Harry S Truman.

Another said: "And he's not even at 40 percent in the poll!"

The poll also offers a look at the perception of the Democratic party.

Mr Trump's 36 per cent overall approval rating is a close to a mirror image of his predecessor's score after six months.

The poll surveyed 600 adults in these counties between July 8-12 and has a plus or minus 5.3 percentage point margin of error in "flip" counties and a plus or minus 6.1 percentage point margin of error in "surge" counties.
