Sergio Aguero involved in a auto crash in Amsterdam

Sergio Aguero and the car that was crashed

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has reportedly suffered injured ribs after the Argentine forward was involved in a auto crash in Amsterdam, media in Argentina reported on Friday.

In a statement on Thursday, the club announced Benjamin Mendy sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament during last weekend's 5-0 home win over Crystal Palace, while news broke on Friday that Aguero had been involved in a vehicle crash after attending a concert by Colombian pop star Maluma. They have bounced back from the opening-day defeat against Burnley in some style and centre-forward Alvaro Morata is showing the same kind of scoring prowess as Aguero at City.

The English Premier League side, however, said the Argentine striker would return to Britain to be checked ahead of the weekend's fixtures.

Aguero, who has since flown back to Manchester, could be out for up to two months. The news is worse for Argentina considering they have two crucial World Cup qualifiers, against Peru on October 5 and Ecuador on October 10.

"Exactly how many days he will be off, I don't know right now", he said, adding that he had "no problem" with Aguero being in Amsterdam.

"I think we are a bit penalised", said Conte. And when he skidded, we hit him with the pole. It hurts me badly.

"We have the first impressions of what he has, he's broken the rib. I'll be discharged in a little while".

However, if he can come up with match-winning moments against the defending Premier League champions then it may be hard for Guardiola to overlook prolonging his tenure as the number one striker.

"If you ask the manager there is always something to improve but we know that we are a great team, we have great players and it's just up to us to prove that every fourth day".

There is a sense of City becoming an irresistible force under Guardiola and Leroy Sane's development into a left winger with the pace, power and goal-threat of Gareth Bale should not go unnoticed amid the goal rush.

Aguero has scored seven times for Pep Guardiola's side in all competitions this season.
