Chinese woman follows her bag into X-ray security scanner

The woman climbed into the machine to be scanned so that she could keep an eye on her bag and cash

A woman at Dongguan Railway Station in China's southern Guangdong Province seems to have an inextricable relationship with her handbag, as she climbed into an X-ray machine with it during the security scan.

A video showing the woman's silhouette as she passed through the X-ray machine at a railway station on Sunday has gone viral on the Chinese internet. Wads of cash are traditionally given as a gift for Chinese New Year which many believed what she was trying to protect.

According to NDTV, the woman actually got on to the conveyor belt with her bag and made her way out from the other side (with her bag of course).

The woman refused to be parted from her handbag and jumped on after it at a station.

According to reports from Chinese media, she'd sent her bigger bags through the machine and tried to walk through the security check point while wearing her hand bag.

While the woman did not appear to have suffered any ill effects from her scanner adventure, the city's railway police were quick to warn passengers against repeating the trick.

The video also shows the woman getting out of the X-ray machine after the checking had been done.

The highlight of the footage is a sequence of orange-tinted X-ray images of the woman on all fours as she passes through the scanner, with her skeleton on view for all the world to see.

They were told the radiation given off by the machine had the potential to be harmful to anyone silly enough to climb inside.
