Nine Lincolnshire schools targeted by bomb threat hoax

Mass bomb hoax email demanding cash sent to 400 schools across UK as some evacuate pupils

The threats sent by email demanded a $5,000 ransom or a bomb left by a student would detonate within three hours.

Staff and pupils at Bilton C of E Junior School were evacuated to neighbouring Rugby High School today, Monday March 19, while police attended.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said a bomb threat called in Saturday at the Walmart store in Mount Pocono was a hoax.

It is not known whether any schools in Lancashire were evacuated.

"Police investigated and concluded that there was no serious threat".

Authorities have now described the threats as "hoaxes" and said they were sent from the US.

"Police take hoaxes extremely seriously".

Warwickshire Police said that the threats were made to a number of schools in the county.

Lincolnshire Police said: "Nine schools in Lincolnshire have this morning reported to us that they have received a malicious communication".

We have been working closely with schools this morning and have advised them to make contact with parents.

VeltPVP is a player-verses-player server that sells in-game items and upgrades to players.

Schools in London and North Yorkshire were also affected by this. VeltPvP, they claim, has initiated DDoS attacks against a number of other Minecraft servers.

More than 400 schools and colleges across the country are believed to have been targeted by threats which are believed to be coming from the US.

He added: "I'm not going to lose sleep over it".
