Trump 'all but decided' to withdraw from nuclear deal

Iran will not remain in the nuclear deal with world powers if the United States decides to quit the accord, a senior advisor to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said today.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned of "dangerous times" as US President Donald Trump considers whether to remain in or leave the global deal that seeks to rein in Iran's nuclear weapons programme.

"In the previous year or so, we've been told that President Trump is unhappy with the deal, and it now appears that the response from some Europeans has been to offer the United States more concessions, from our pocket", said Iran's top diplomat.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said Tehran "will not accept any restrictions beyond its commitments" to comply with global rules in the years ahead. The secretary general's comments came just days after Israel revealed what it said "secret nuclear files" accusing Iran of having covertly pursued nuclear weapons.

"In contrast, the United States has consistently violated the nuclear agreement, especially by bullying others from doing business with Iran", he said.

This all comes less than two weeks before President Donald Trump decides whether the U.S. plans to stay in Iran nuclear deal or not.

But some, including United States allies Britain, France and Germany, said the information he had delivered was already known to nuclear weapons inspectors and had no bearing on the nuclear agreement signed between Tehran and world powers in July 2015.

The 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers saw Tehran limit its enrichment of uranium and number of spinning centrifuges, as well as hand over its stockpile of uranium and reconfigure a heavy-water reactor so it couldn't produce plutonium. Tehran argues that any new deal would cover "defensive capabilities and regional influence" among other things that were excluded from the outset of the negotiations in 2015.

Zarif was responding to Britain, France and Germany who said on Sunday that the nuclear agreement left out some "important elements".

Trump demands inspection of Iran's military sites, and ending Tehran's ballistic missile program.

French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to the accord but admitted that it needed strengthening.

Velayati warned against any move to try to renegotiate the 2015 deal.

Netanyahu said the documents provided evidence that Iran attempted to develop a nuclear bomb in the 2000s.
