Pro-Brexit Lawmakers Push UK Towards New Referendum

How Brexit could end flights in and out the UK

Amid the ongoing power-sharing impasse at Stormont, Mrs May is meeting the five main political parties on her two day visit to Northern Ireland, which included her first visit to the Irish border since the Brexit referendum.

"That's why we have ruled out any kind of hard border".

Resignation statements like Mr Johnson's have previously been used by former ministers to inflict a departing blow on prime ministers with whom they have clashed.

Mrs May was defeated on a separate amendment to her flagship Trade Bill, which will require her to seek continued United Kingdom participation in the EU's system for regulation of medicines after Brexit.

The Democratic Unionist Party - the right-wing Northern Irish party which is now propping up May's minority Conservative government in Westminster - has vowed not to accept any suggestion that Northern Ireland would have a different relationship with the European Union than the rest of the UK.

"That ranges from an Irish Language Act, legacy issues, women's reproductive health, marriage equality - they're all represented here".

"And that does mean that if there was a no-deal "Hard Brexit" next March, the planes would not fly, and Britain would be an island - in many ways - and that is something that they need to think about".

And now, May has warned there may be 'no Brexit at all' due to continued attempts to undermine her plan to leave the EU.

"Contingency planning for the worst possible outcome is not a sign of mistrust in the negotiations", it said.

The statement also won support from Nigel Farage, but the former Ukip leader made clear he did not believe the Brexit desired by Mr Johnson could ever be delivered by Mrs May.

May told MPs on Thursday that the British government would publish around 70 "technical notices" in the next few months that will tell business and citizens what they should do in the event of Britain leaving the European Union without a deal. In my view, it's take this seriously or we are heading for no deal.

She told The House magazine: "The EU has simply not taken us seriously so far in terms of the future agreement".

Speaking at Belfast's Waterfront Hall on Friday, Mrs May will highlight how one of the amendments added by MPs to the government's customs bill this week now makes it illegal for Northern Ireland to be part of a customs territory from the rest of the UK.

The UK has not agreed on future bilateral relations with the European Union including a "frictionless free trade area for goods", Efe news reported.

In a visit with the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Mrs.

He told the Commons yesterday evening: "This [amendment] is vital because that is how we get our people and our NHS the medicines they need, it is also important for our pharmaceutical sector".

The Prime Minister dismissed the charge before insisting she was seeking a "workable" solution to issues with the EU.

On Monday, May was forced to bow to demands from her party's hardline Brexit supporters to amend her legislation while on Tuesday she narrowly avoided defeat in parliament at the hands of pro-EU lawmakers who wanted closer ties with the bloc.

"Two years on from the Brexit Referendum and Theresa May has finally decided to make a visit to a border constituency".

She said the rhetoric from Mrs May around protecting the Good Friday Agreement in all of its parts and preventing hardening of the border "is just that, and is superseded entirely by her instinct and desire" to play to the Brexiteer gallery and to the DUP.
