North Korea Says US "Throwing Water" Over Confidence-Building Efforts

John Bolton Says North Korea Hasn't Done Much To Rid Itself Of Nuclear Weapons

North Korea ripped the USA government on Thursday for insisting that Pyongyang fully denuclearize, claiming that Trump administration officials are "going against" President TrumpDonald John TrumpOhio county finds hundreds of uncounted votes in already too-close-to-call special election Nunes suggested at private fundraiser that GOP majority is needed to protect Trump Ex-Bush spokesman: Trump shouldn't talk in his "loopy ways" to Mueller MORE by criticizing the nation.

The foreign ministry in Pyongyang accused the United States of following an "outdated acting script" and demanded more concessions before offering any in return.

The announcement by an official at the South's Unification Ministry, which handles inter-Korean issues for Seoul, comes amid attempts by Washington and Pyongyang to follow through on nuclear disarmament vows made at a summit in June between President Donald Trump and Kim.

North Korea remains unchanged in its will to implement agreements made by the top leaders of North Korea and the United States during their Singapore talks, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted a foreign ministry spokesperson as saying on Thursday.

Washington has said that sanctions will not be lifted until Pyongyang fully and finally dismantles its nuclear weapons. Among the agreements was holding another inter-Korean summit in the fall in Pyongyang. "What we need is performance from North Korea on denuclearization".

The customs service did not identify the companies involved, but said about 35,000 tons of coal was brought into South Korea between April and October in 2017, worth 6.6 billion won ($5.8 million).

The reclusive state took steps such as dismantling its nuclear test site even before the unprecedented North Korea-U.S. summit on June 12, but the two sides have still failed to decide any timeline for Pyongyang to give up its existing nukes.

"The U.S. should, even at this belated time, respond to our honest efforts in a corresponding manner", North Korea added in its statement.

The inter-Korean meeting on Monday will be held at Tongilgak, a North Korean-controlled building in the border village of Panmunjom.

Seoul said it accepted the North's proposal after Pyongyang first suggested a meeting Monday to discuss another summit between the leaders.

A South Korean coach said the "rare opportunity" to play football in the North's capital would be a "great experience" for his players regardless of the end result.

The U.N. Security Council banned North Korea's sale of coal, iron, iron ore, lead, lead ore and seafood in a bid to slash by a third the country's $3 billion annual export incomes, while capping imports of crude oil and refined petroleum products.

Yesterday, Pyongyang reiterated its own demand for the USA to agree to declare a formal end to the 1950-53 Korean War, which ended with an armistice and not a peace treaty. The Korean Peninsula is still technically in a state of war because the fighting ended with a cease-fire, not a peace treaty.
