With Kavanaugh nomination, Trump faces #MeToo - 9/25/2018 11:40:38 PM

Trump Open To Having Both Brett Kavanaugh Accusers Testify: White House

Trump said the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh "affect" him because he has had similar allegations many against himself "many times".

When asked if he believes any of the allegations against his Supreme Court nominee, Trump said, "These are all false, to me".

Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley has pledged to look into Ramirez's allegation, but not delay the Thursday hearing as ranking member Dianne Feinstein has requested. CNN's Jim Acosta - no stranger to seeking the spotlight himself in his self-appointed role as Trump antagonist asked him if, after he was done, whether the president might call on a female reporter.

President Donald Trump expressed outrage on Wednesday over the mounting number of sexual assault allegations that have been laid against his Supreme Court pick, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, calling the accusations "ridiculous". And I said gee, that's too bad.

While Trump has derided the #MeToo movement that has targeted a number of prominent men, the president also acknowledged that Thursday's hearing could be another touchstone for the nation.

Trump blamed Democrats for ginning up last-minute charges against Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh vehemently denies the accusations, vowing to fight what he has denounced as "smears, pure and simple". "And I think people are gonna see that in the midterms".

Trump allowed that he'd heard "a little rustle" as he began reciting US economic gains under his watch, but he insisted: "They weren't laughing at me". That tweet - he questioned why Ford did not report the alleged assault at the time - drew a fiery response from women online, with many posting first-person stories about their experiences with the Twitter hashtag #WhyIDidntReport.

As he wrapped up the press conference, Trump chose to take one last question, and said, "I always like to finish with a good one. I've had many false charges". "We're not getting along at all with their negotiators", Trump said. Create more jobs. So I'm anxious about the fact that they seem to like raising interest rates.

Michael Avenatti is causing plenty of headaches for US President Donald Trump. Ahead of the President's arrival in NY last weekend, aides hoped an intensive schedule might deter him from further inflaming the precarious confirmation proceedings back home, which most Republicans concurred was best played out without Trump's intervention. I think he is a friend of mine, maybe not anymore. Jiang then tried to finish her question, leading Trump to lament: "You've been asking the question for 10 minutes".

Trump then said Kavanaugh is now facing a "guilty until proven innocent" situation, which he said is "a very, very risky standard". "Now the Trump administration is reinforcing the narrative that we have a war on women".

Mr Trump also admitted he views allegations of sexual assault differently because a lot of false charges [have been] made against me.

Allies such as Fox News host Sean Hannity have accused the Federal Bureau of Investigation of leaking the damaging information on Rosenstein in the hope that Trump would fire him, setting off another firestorm just weeks before elections that will determine political control of Congress.

The press conference is Trump's last planned event as part of the 2018 U.N. General Assembly.
