Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale released from hospital

Neither the Astros nor the Red Sox seem concerned about Instagram

Major League Baseball is investigating the Houston Astros after a man affiliated with the team appeared to be shooting video of the Boston Red Sox during Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. The man had a small camera and was texting frequently, but did not have a media credential.

The Indians, who were swept by Houston and eliminated in the first round for the second straight year, were concerned the man was attempting to view scouting reports Cleveland had on Houston's players, one person said.

Already being accused of cheating by the Red Sox, it's now being reported that the Indians filed a complaint about the Astros filming their dugout during the ALDS after more about this came out.

So it's really not surprising at all that he reacted the way he did when former teammate Jackie Bradley Jr. blew Game 3 open for the Red Sox with an eighth-inning grand slam.

With the Red Sox deep into the postseason and now facing the equally analytically minded Astros, those little edges come at a premium.

A separate report from Yahoo Sports identified the man as Kyle McLaughlin and says he aimed a cell phone into the Indians' dugout during their Game 3 loss to the Astros in the AL Division Series. Passan adds that some clubs are "wary" that Houston may utilize its Edgertronic ballpark cameras, which can record 2,000 frames per second, in sign-stealing schemes. "So we do a good job of changing sequences and paying attention to details". "We try to slow it down". After being asked about the man claiming to be an Astros' employee and the warning given to the Red Sox, an Indians spokesman said via email on Tuesday, "We are not going to comment on this situation".

"No, I don't", he said.

In what could be considered a must-win game for the Astros, they'll have the chance to even up the series at two games apiece at home Wednesday night.

Security at Fenway Park had been warned about the man, because of his similarly suspicious behavior during the Astros' ALDS win over the Cleveland Indians.

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Astros deployed McLaughlin to monitor whether the Red Sox were cheating on their side of the field.

The Astros trail the Red Sox 2-1 in their best-of-7 ALCS. He was then removed from the media-credentialed area.

On Wednesday, MLB issued a statement saying its department of investigations determined "that an Astros employee was monitoring the field to ensure that the opposing club was not violating any rules". He also notes that the allegations raised against Houston are not the first to be brought up this season; in August, the Athletics called Major League Baseball to investigate the matter, however, the results of it are unclear.
