Migrant Caravan Demands Mexico Provide Them Transportation

Migrant caravan takes a break in southern Mexico

McAleenan said the aim of the operation was to deter migrants from crossing illegally, but he conceded his officers were overwhelmed by a surge of asylum seekers at border crossings.

According to The Associated Press, the "migrant caravan" turned down an offer of asylum in Mexico and instead insisted it would continue its relentless trek to smash open the US border.

But Mexican officials seem intent only on seeing the caravan melt away as it travels toward the United States border.

The "Military is waiting for you!" the president also tweeted.

"I firmly believe that border security is national security and with that in mind that we are in support of Secretary Nielsen and her efforts to secure the border", the general said. The standoff at the riverbank followed a more violent confrontation that occurred on the bridge over the river Sunday night, when migrants threw rocks and used sticks against Mexico police.

The announcement on Monday is likely to help draw attention ahead of the midterm elections back to migration, as Mr Trump faces hard questions over gun control and inciting violence in the wake of the Pittsburgh mass shooting and politically-motivated mail-bombs. Around 2,000 National Guard troops have already been deployed to the border, with as many as 5,200 more active-duty troops poised to head that way if needed.

End game: open borders, the end of national sovereignty, and, as The New American has reported, integration of the United States into the North American superstate managed by Deep State globocrats.

The scale of Operation Faithful Patriot appears to have no defined limits: General Terrence O'Shaughnessy, commander of North American Aerospace Defence Command and US Northern Command, has indicated that the numbers could be increased if required.

On Tuesday, he stepped up his dire warnings, calling the band of migrants fleeing poverty and violence in Central America an "invasion". One migrant died from a head wound during the clash, but the cause was unclear.

Children of migrants wait for a ride near Tapanatepec, Mexico, as their caravan continues toward the USA border, October 29, 2018. "If you want to wait, they don't usually get asylum".

If an asylum seeker enters the U.S. illegally, they are still entitled to a hearing of their claim.

The US military is prohibited from carrying out civilian law enforcement on US soil unless specifically authorized by Congress.

Pueblo Sin Fronteras, who helped organize the caravan and has been deeply involved with its continuation, has said it hopes to hold meetings in Mexico City with federal lawmakers and authorities as well as representatives of the incoming government to discuss migrants' rights and the caravan's future.

"Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our Southern Border", Trump wrote.

"This is inhuman. If a child had been left in the middle of that mess they would have killed them", a migrant in the group, which is estimated to number between 1,500 and 2,000, said.

"Please go back", he urged them, "you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process". U.S. Transportation Command posted a video on its Facebook page Monday of a C-17 transport plane that it said was delivering Army equipment to the Southwest border in support of the operation.

Mattis told reporters traveling with him Sunday that details of the deployment are still being worked out but he should have them Sunday night.
