After all the rumors about the Apple tablet (iSlate), finally the former Google China President Kai-Fu Lee claimed that it would be revealed in January with a price not more than $1000 and will have 3D graphics. Lee said “Most surprising: Apple predicts production of nearly 10 million [units] in the first year.” Although he did not revealed the source of his information.
According to Lee the tablet will have a look similar to a large iPhone with a 10.1inch multitouch touchscreen with a virtual keyboard and will provide you with features as videoconferencing and e-books. The 3D graphics will be similar to that of iPhone and iPod touch.
The rumors about the device were further confirmed when a blog post by the Financial Times last week claimed Apple is expected to make a major product announcement at an event in San Francisco on January 26.
Lee later predicted that the device will weigh even less than half as much as a MacBook Air. Lee also claimed that Apple could team up with US network operators to lower its price further. Operators already have a service in which they provide similar model mobile phones including the iPhone in which the buyer gets a discount on buying the device if the buyer signs a mobile service contract with the company. Lee did not immediately reply to e-mailed questions about his claim.
