The editorial director of Gizmodo has published an official letter which he received from Apple. In the letter sent by Apple, it was requested by Apple to return their iPhone OS 4 immediately to them which they consider to be possessed by Gizmodo.
The letter from Apple it self is an indicator to the fact that the device regarding which a large debate centred is actually not a fake but a real device. However, though issues regarding the reality of this iPhone device have become clear, yet it should not be considered that this is the next iPhone in the market. It can be just a prototype of Apple.
Gizmodo actually assumes that the device was found at a bar by an anonymous bar-goer in Red Wood City near San Francisco on the last Thursday. It looked somewhat similar to that of the iPhone 3G as a result of which it was suspected that somewhat might have left behind his iPhone. The founder then unlocked the device to find Gray Powell, an Apple engineer to be still signed in.
Next day, the MobileMe service of Apple made the phone dead. It was then noticed that the phone has a different look than that of the iPhone 3G as well as from that of the other iPhones. This device had a front facing camera and the outer case looked quite different.
It was then that instead of returning it to the owner, the device has been popularised to the highest bidder.
