“Avatar” DVD-ROM drive sales sets new record

A movie by James Cameron “Avatar” set an absolute record, writes The New York Times. Since the output disc with a picture of a 2D-format has sold nearly 6.7 million copies of the film.

“Avatar” appeared on the shelves of video stores on April 22:

As of April 25, sold four million DVD-ROM drive and 2.7 million copies of the film in high definition on media Blu-ray. Total revenue from sales amounted to $ 130 million.

It is not known the date edition of “Avatar” in 3D-format for home viewing. According to the filmmakers, the output stereoscopic version of the painting will take place when the market will be enough players to support this format.
