BBC quiet over downsizing claims

The British Broadcasting Corporation has refused to comment over downsizing claims made by the media. Earlier there was in news that the BBC is planning to shut down two of its famous radio stations. According to a report, published in The Times, BBC Asian Network and 6 Music will be closed soon to make a savings of around £600 million. The BBC Switch and Blast! Websites are also to be closed.

The Times has also revealed that, the British Broadcasting Corporation is now planning to reduce its service and will emphasize on qualitative programs rather than going for high magnitude. Times also claimed that the report is at present being considered by the BCC’s governing body, the British Broadcasting Corporation Trust. This downsizing will provide a massive slash in expense for the broadcaster. And the BBC is hoping to get around £600 million more so that it can accentuate for its higher quality programming.

However, the British Broadcasting Corporation has refused to remark on the issue. A spokeswoman for the corporation has said that these issues are only speculations and she would not like to comment on “speculations”.
