The country largest book store is now also offering books online. The bookseller has now opened an online store or in other words an e-book store. The users will be offered a very vast collection of books. The store with 1.5 million titles in it will be in league with the versions that the Borders released for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod that were released last month.
The e-book store will be powered by Kobo, which also has created Border’s iPhone and iPad apps. Along with these on Wednesday itself the company released versions for the various BlackBerry phones and introduction to allow Android OS smartphones to access the catalog. With this new initiative the users will be able browse and buy e-books. The hunt for the desired book can be done for searching by title, author, topic, or keyword. The tough competition that the store if facing from the arch rivals Amazon.com has prompted Borders to launch its own e-readers. The company is running in a loss since four straight years.
