Can Law get the Crooks?

There has been a lot of debate on the issue, in spite of lot of efforts why the law enforcement agencies can’t stop the criminals infecting PCs. The graph of these cyber crimes are going up day by day. But to utter surprise the authorities have not much clue on cyber crimes. Cybercriminals are rarely being caught by the police.

Apart from that one can earn a huge lot of money in this illegal activity just like drugs and prostitution. So people will be there to make it despite serious involvement of risks. If the authorities arrest two, there may be twenty more waiting to take their place. Cybercrime has become a highly profitable affair. One can do it from any place in the world with the help of an Internet connection. Besides the punishments are negligent as compared to other violent crime, and chances of getting caught red-handedly are comparatively low.

According to technology lawyer and former PC World columnist Mark Grossman, the methods required to catch these criminals are time consuming, expensive, and usually involve cooperation between multiple countries. It’s an issue of resources and international cooperation. For the most of time, the agencies lack both resources and cooperation.
