A totally new era of discovery has been done on Tuesday. Thousands of mini-Big Bangs were created by the physicists. This was somewhat like the primeval explosion that led to the birth of the universe around 13.7 billion years ago.
According to the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) director Sergio Bertolucci, this discovery has paved the way to find out and know things that were there as well as several unknown things.
With the discovery on Tuesday, the scientists and the engineers present in the control room of CERN burst out into excitement and thrill. It was a 9.4$ billion project which was mainly undertaken to discover the origins of the cosmos. Its first big success has indeed been achieved with this discovery. All across CERN, colorful images of the collision were flashed onto the screens. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) project is expected to continue for about a decade.
The images gave a clear indication of what exactly happened after a fraction of a second after the Big Bang was spewed out as matter and energy.
On a video relay from Tokyo, the Director-General of CERN, Rolf Heuer claimed that they are really proud of the discovery and they can really bring out knowledge on the idea from where the universe evolved.
He also claimed that over the next few months, the scientists and the researchers around the globe would analyze huge volumes of data produced largely from the LHC particle collisions.
