Face book’s mission – I billion mark

An aid to achieve the herculean task of 1 billion customer base Facebook launches its new version for mobile- Facebook Zero. This is a simplified version for all the mobile users.

It will be a text-based application which will be devoid of all the popular fetures such as photo sharing and plans to integrate all the mobile users as well. The simplified version will be free of charges. With the launch of this the CEO Mark Zuckerberg, envisions a platform which can keep users connected via simple text message. His objective seems to be crystal clear as this scheme targets all non-smartphone users plus the third world countries as well who are depraved of Internet connectivity or have a limited connectivity.

Report suggest that the user base of facebook have 400 million active users and by the year end of 2009 it had captured a quarter of world’s population and if it has to achieve the feat of reaching a billion mark it has to target 50 % Internet users across. This can only be achieved through innovations like these. If facebook has to hold its firm grip in the market it has to pull in as many as interesting features so that the audience do not migrate.
