Facebook first Asia office : Facebook, the largest social networking site in the world, will open an office in India to manage the rapid growth of users in Asian country.
It adds to the headquarters for the western extension of the support centers around the world and in different languages for the fastest growing Indian Users.
The office is the first in Asia continent for Facebook, will be established in Hyderabad in the south of the country. The intentional office will add to the headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Dublin, Ireland, and Austin, Texas.
The move is part of a strategy to create support centers around the world, covering all time zones, and provide assistance in several languages.
The number of users of Facebook, founded in 2004 as a network for universities, is now above 400 million. 70% of them are outside the United States and uses the site in over 70 languages.
“Only in India we have seen rapid growth and we now have over 8 million people actively connected to Facebook,” said Don Faul, director of online operations of global companies.
