Google buys Picnik

Google has acquired online photo-editing app Picnik. Picnik provides the most popular software which web-based applications allow its users to import and edit photos. Picnik is one of the trendy photo-management and sharing services wing. The private company Picnik was founded in 2006 with a workforce of 20 employees. Since then its free as well as fee-based versions of software have earned enormous public preference.

Now its website is one of the most viewed sites in various search engines. The approximate per month visit to its site is around 40 million and to its success each visitor is spending around 17 minutes on an average. Hence Picnik is going to be an impressive inclusion for Google.

One of product management director of Google Mr. Brian Axe has confirmed the news in an official blog. He has informed that there will be no serious changes to Picnik at once. The features will be almost the same. But his company will work hard on integration and look forward for some exciting new features. On the other hand Picnik has expressed that it will be benefited by Google’s technical resources to achieve a faster and better improvement.
