Governor to contest for New York again

New York Governor, David Paterson has announced that he would be contesting for the New York’s governor post. This is a long-shot bid where if he wins, he would again become the governor of the cosmopolitan city.

The scheduled start of the campaign is to begin today at the Hofstra University, Paterson’s alma mater. He attended the law school in the University.

As per his schedule, Paterson is supposed to speak on to a Rochester union hall. This would be followed by his meeting with the diners at a restaurant in Buffalo. He would also be greeting them during the whole event, which will take place on Sunday.

It is expected that all the top Democratic leaders of New York will be present. However, there is doubt whether Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, would be able to attend the meet and greet session. Senator Chuck Schumer’s attendance is also doubtful. Both the leaders have gone to upstate counties.

There is also confusion as to the invites to the function. Paterson’s most vocal supporter, Rep. Charles Rangel, was not even invited.

All this can further hamper the image of Paterson, which is already on a rollercoaster ride.
