Green Light for Series Development of the Porsche 918 Spyder

The concept was first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and after the awesome response seen from the public, the Porsche’s supervisory board approved to the project and its production. It was heard that the Porsche 918 will cost the customer about $600,000.Thus the customers will have to shed a lot out from their pockets  to own this great car.
The company promises the car’s performance to be exceptionally good as well as fuel economic. Porsche says the 918 will do zero to 100 km/hr in less than 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 198 mph. With just 70 g/km of   CO2   emission and consuming 3.0 liters per 100 kilometers. Though all this information   independently is not yet confirmed by the company but it is sure that the car would turn out to be as per expected.
According to the information provided so far the car just seems perfect, the slightest touch on the accelerator will be   enough to be miles away. The car also provides maximum electrical assistance thus making it user friendly.
The car is a two-seater with a 500-horsepower V-8 found in the Porsche RS Spider race car  and a hybrid electric-drive system to reach a top speed of 199 mile per hour. The car consists of four modes that can range from full electric to race, which throws efficiency to the wind and uses the electric motors as a push-to-pass feature. It can run 14 miles with just the electrical energy.
“A production based model based upon the car earlier presented at Geneva is to be developed”, as proposed by the Porsche’s supervisory board.
It is expected to be a great, pollution free computer car with full assistance. At least   1000 people seem to be interested in buying the car since it was shown in Geneva Motor Show in March this year.
The car is expected to hit the roads by 2013.
