ISuppli Estimates the Cost and Sales Figure of Apple

IPad is the latest craze in the market now. The iSuppli estimates what might be the profit of Apple in selling per unit of the device. iSuppli is a tech research firm that figures out the cost of manufacture of any new device that comes out in the market. This helps the brand to gauge the customer base and find out how much the customers are willing to pay in the market.

As per the estimates made by iSuppli, the iPad is now sold at a rate of 500$ in the market but the component parts for each unit have made Apple spend only 251$. The research firm also makes an estimate of the money that Apple has contributed for making the user interface of the iPad.

As far as the cost structure and the content of the electronics are concerned, the design of iPad reflects a completely new paradigm. In case of iPad unlike a conventional computer, every thing is human-machine-interface centred. The PCB and the integrated circuits are there which facilitates the content display as well as the user inputs.

The research group says that apart from the manufacturing cost, Apple had to spend 260$ in order to make each 16 GB iPad. However, this amount does not include costs of software, licensing fees as well as royalties.

The analysis that iSuppli made comes out to be extremely different from the assessment made by the Apple company.
