The new Volkswagen jetta launched last month has now got a price tag on it. If we don’t include the $770 destination charges then the new Jetta will go for a price of $15,995 which is cheaper than the price of the last year model by $1,740.
The new 2011 Volkswagen in four models that are S, SE, SEL and TDI. The new model comes with a 2.9 inches longer base platform than the previous model, best in class leg room of 38.1 inches and the trunk space of 15.5 cubic feet. All the new Jetta models come with six airbags and a 60/40 rear bench.
The base model S and SE come with disc brakes at front wheel and self adjusting drum brakes at the rear whereas tha upper models(SEL and TDI) come with disc brakes for all four wheels.there is a rear torsion-beam setup in all the models.
Another GLI model is expected to be released which will come with a multilink rear suspension. These changes will surely be made as an independent rear suspension and all four disc brakes were available in the base model of 2010 model.
The S model is priced at $15,995 which is $1,740 less than the 2010 model. It has a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine that has 115-horse power. It comes in five speed manual transmission. It has the standard air conditioning, four speaker sound system and keyless entry.
The SE model starts at $18,195 that is $2,355 less than the older model. The model has all the features of S model in an enhanced form that is 170-hp, 2.5 liter five cylinder engine on a six speed manual gearbox. One can enhance it to a six speaker sound system, leather wrapped steering wheel, 16-inch alloy wheel and heated front seats for $1,350.
The SEL model starts at $21,395 which is $2,050 less than the 2010 model. In this along with all the features of the SE model you have 17-inch alloy wheel, touch screen navigation system and fog lights.
At last is the TDI model with a price tag of $22,995 which is surprisingly $165 costlier than the 2010 model.this one has all the features of SE model but a diesel engine.
Though the new model is cheaper than the previous ones but it is surely making a better impact in the market.
