Jobless Californians Not to Get Unemployment Benefits : There was a hint of an economic turn around in California. In spite of that hint, more than around 2.3 million unemployed people in the city found the month of the march to be the toughest in this year. Within few weeks, the unemployment checks would be cut off for being unemployed.
The rate of unemployment in California reached a new height according to a report. In March, the rate reached a hike of around 12.6%. This growth has created a lot of fear in the labor market. It is expected that the economic condition of the country would remain the same through out the year. The rate of unemployment in February was around 12.5%.
The President of USA had already extended the jobless benefits for several Americans till June. But the part of the labor market that is afraid would not be covered by the $18 billion amount signed by the president on Thursday.
According to the estimates made by the Employment Development Department, the benefits offered by the Obama plan would reach to around 100,000 Californians by this weekend. There are people who are still in need of assistance mainly because the jobs have not multiplied to a great extent. This was claimed by Loree Levy, who is a spokesman with the Employment Development Department.
