Joo Joo tablet poses in front of Apple

The supposedly possible contender of Apple iPad- Joo Joo tablet has been delayed until March 25 due to a “manufacturing error.”

The news was confirmed by the CEO of Fusion Garage, Chandra Rathakrishnan stating that in the eleventh hour the issue cropped up and the product had to be called off. For the ones who had done advance booking will be offered a “free Joo Joo accessory” to compensate the losses.

The JooJoo tablet features a 12.1-inch touchscreen (the “largest in the industry,” according to its makers), Wi-Fi, and a 4GB Solid State Drive. It also has a USB 2.0 port, a Webcam and built-in mic, and a complete Adobe Flash support (as well as HD Flash). It uses the Internet platform (the 4GB SSD is to store cache and the operating system), and doesn’t come with apps( a similarity with the iPad). A major disadvantage of this product is that its use gets extremely confined without Internet access, and it doesn’t support 3G connectivity.

There are possibilities that it may pose as a competition for the iPad( priced at par with iPad at $499), sees a rise in number of inquiries since the announcement of the iPad.
