Kindle comes free with BlackBerry

Amazon has unveiled Kindle for BlackBerry, a free e-book application that lets users read over digital 420,000 books bought from the online retailer, including over 100 New York Times bestsellers, on various BlackBerry devices.

It also lets the user to synchronize bookmarks with the Kindle electronic reader and other supported devices.
The Research In Motion’s BlackBerry joins Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch. Amazon also plans to release applications for the Mac and Apple iPad, a tablet computer set to be released at the end of March.

E-books purchased from Amazon can be downloaded to the Kindle using its Whispersync wireless technology or to any other device with the Kindle application. E-books purchased on one device can also be accessed by other devices through Amazon.

It means that you will no more need to stuff your travel bag with your favorite book so that you can read it at the airport and the plane. All you need to carry is this 1/3-inch thick and 10.2 ounce portable device, which reads just like a book or a page of a book. It is just that there is no paper.

The device allows the user to download books in less than 60 seconds wirelessly, with no PC required. What an idea?

Customers using BlackBerry devices on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and other U.S. carriers too can use the Kindle.

The Kindle leads the e-reader market, with Sony’s Reader a distant second.

The device can hold up to 1,500 books, more than most people would read in a lifetime.

With the addition of the built in PDF reader, you will be able to access and view files or documents. It also boasts of a ‘read to me’ feature. You will be read to in English and have the choice of a female or male voice. This feature can be slowed down or sped up to suit your requirements.

With the 6″ display, and the 16 level gray tones, you can view pictures, images or photographs clearly.
The application allows users to read the beginnings of books for free before purchase, access their entire existing libraries, adjust the text size, and read compatible books in full color.
