Kodak knocks the door of ITC for its patents

A fresh case at International Trade Commission in US claims that Apple Inc. and Blackberry involves infringement of patents in usage of digital cameras of Kodak.

Kodak believes that iPhone and BlackBerry devices with camera infringe a patent on technology for providing image previews; for which Kodak has lodged two lawsuits in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York against Apple that allege infringement of patents related to the image preview and image size functions of digital cameras, and certain computer processes.

With a progress in case within 45 days, the ITC will set a target date for completion of the investigation. The first step will involve an initial determination issued by one of the ITC’s administrative law judges. It still is on a process to be reviewed by the commission.

Kodak doesn’t seem to rest as it seeks for compensation and also want the companies to refrain from importing products and also using their patents. As it is the company is undergoing through an economic downturn and cannot incur any further loss of its proppert rights. Thereby it seeks justice for the same.
