Malicious e-mail to steal password for Facebook users

McAfee estimated that hackers on tuesday launched an attack, has issued a number of 10 million spam. McAfee executives Dave Marcus said it expects to handle millions of users to become infected. Facebook spokesman said the company would not comment on the matter, but claimed that the company has issued a public notice Wednesday morning to remind the user to delete this message, and requests the user to remind to their friends also.
Security software maker McAfee, said  that an on-line transmission of a junk mail “claim” is a user’s Facebook account password be re-set, and recommends that users click on attachments, to obtain a new password.

Once the user click on an attachment, several pieces of malware sneak into the user’s computer, including a password-stealing malware.

Over the years, hackers have always as a target Facebook users, through Facebook’s internal email system to send a malicious e-mail. But the new attack does not use Facebook’s internal email system.

McAfee estimated that hackershas issued a number of 10 million spam. McAfee executives Dave Marcus said he expects that millions of users get infected, “Facebook, about 400 million users, even if only 10% of users are infected, the number will hit a staggering 40 million.”
